The Crease Vol #12 10/20/2006 Just to let our reads know, I'm heading out of town this upcoming week to an undisclosed location for some undisclosed relaxation. God knows I need it. So if you can't get in touch with me at the rink, leave a message and I'll get back to you upon my return. That being said, I hope everyone enjoyed the last “In the Crease” #11 and the report done by Joey Gould. Thanks again Joey! A huge reminder to all our hockey dads and hockey fans. The 2006 National Invitational Scholastic Showcase is being held at the JSBIA, Nov 10,11,&12. This tournament is comprised from some of the best and most talented teams in the USA . All teams are at the high school varsity level and some of these kids you'll end up seeing in the pros. Our local Jamestown Lakers have been invited to test their skills against teams they have never seen before. This will be one of many new venues at the JSBIA showcasing elite hockey teams and events. Please view the schedule for the tournament or download at: www.eteamz.com/pahockey/files/2006NISSSCHED.xls
Or you can go to the official website at: http://h1.ripway.com/nisshockey/
In other news, we're working on a Northern Chautauqua County Police & Fire <VS> Southern Chautauqua County Police & Fire. This will be a fun family day to come and watch our local hero's battle each other for the title of county's best hockey team. More information to be listed as I receive it.
Looking to do another Sabres Alumni game at the JSBIA. As always the Sabres Alumni will be here to battle a local team for some good laughs and a chance to check on your favorite hockey blasts from the past. More information to be listed as I receive it. Bob Gergerick from IHC Hockey ( International Hockey College ) is doing a scouting clinic April of 2007. This guy places kids in the proper organizations to help them develop their hockey skills and senses. His job is to ready each individual for the next level of desired play. Such as developing a program for a child to assist his or her skills making them ready to be placed into a travel program. Or to assist in moving a good high school player into a great Juniors program. Or Juniors to college or pro. These are all examples, but Bob has seen lots of success by placing the right players in the right programs to further their hockey careers. Keep your eyes open to future columns for more information.
As always I'm looking for suggestions and ideas to help motivate people to explore and enjoy hockey. If you have any ideas or questions on any of the “In the Crease” columns feel free to write me or call me direct at the Arena. (716) 484-2624 Ext. 217
